Built, next to the land wall of the old city, between the years 1902-1907 by the Turkish landowner and tobacco merchant Mehmet Ali Pasadzik, it dominates the port of Kavala.
At the time when the tobacconists of every nationality of Kavala, above all others, competed to see who would build the biggest and most impressive house for the time. So M. A. Pasadzik built a symmetrical three-story building with strong stonework, a unique mansion that in terms of architectural influences is a typical example of Ottoman neoclassicism with Art Nouveau influences.
In 1923, with the exchange of populations, it came under the jurisdiction of the Greek State, and from then until the war of 1940, various services such as Prefecture, Naval Base, Naval School, etc. were successively housed here. Shortly before the war, the Police was housed here, something that was continued by the Bulgarians. In this building worked the Bulgarian Security, the infamous Okhrana, which during the years of occupation was the fear and terror of the area.
For the last 45 years it has been used as a school for the 5th High School of Kavala.
