Acceptance of the terms

By accessing or using kavalaplaces.gr (the “Website”), the Kavala Places mobile application (the “App”) or the Web AR experiences (together, the “Service”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, please do not use the Service.

The service

The Service is a digital guide to the monuments and places of interest of Kavala, Greece. It offers descriptive content, photographs, audio narrations, interactive 3D models, an interactive 3D map and augmented reality (AR) experiences. The Service is operated for the Municipality of Kavala and is provided free of charge, for personal, non-commercial use.

Acceptable use

You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes and in a way that does not infringe the rights of, restrict, or inhibit the use of the Service by any third party. You may not attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Service, its servers or any connected systems, introduce malicious software, or use automated tools to scrape or mass-download its content.

Intellectual property

Unless otherwise stated, all content of the Service — texts, photographs, audio narrations, 3D models, maps, graphics, logos and software — belongs to the Municipality of Kavala or is used under licence from its rightful owners. You may view, download and print content for personal, non-commercial use only, provided you keep all copyright notices intact. Any other use — including reproduction, modification, distribution or commercial exploitation — requires prior written permission.

Photographs from third-party sources (e.g. Wikimedia Commons) are used under their respective licences and remain the property of their creators.

The app & AR safety

The App is available through the Apple App Store and Google Play; your use of those platforms is also subject to their own terms. The App and the Web AR experiences require a compatible device, and AR features use your device’s camera and sensors.

Please stay safe: AR and audio experiences are designed to be used outdoors, near monuments and streets. Always remain aware of your surroundings, watch for traffic, steps and uneven ground, and do not use the Service while driving or cycling. You use the Service at your own responsibility.

Third-party services

The Service embeds or links to third-party services — such as Google Maps, Sketchfab (3D models), YouTube and social networks — and to external websites such as visitkavala.gr. These services are governed by their own terms and privacy policies, and we are not responsible for their content or practices.

Accuracy of information

We make every effort to keep the information on the Service accurate and up to date. However, practical details — such as visiting hours, ticket prices and accessibility of monuments — may change without notice. Please verify important details with the operators of each site before your visit. Historical content is provided for general information and educational purposes.

Limitation of liability

The Service is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind. To the extent permitted by law, the Municipality of Kavala and its partners are not liable for any damage arising from the use — or inability to use — the Service, from inaccuracies in its content, or from the temporary unavailability of the Website or the App.

Privacy

Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms of Use from time to time, for example when we add new features to the Service. The current version, with its date of last update, will always be published on this page. Your continued use of the Service after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by Greek law. Any dispute arising from the use of the Service falls under the jurisdiction of the courts of Kavala, Greece.
